Calais Ferry Port

Ferry Ports are strange places – the fences, the barbed wire, the surveillance cameras – the sheer emptyness.

They feel like soveriegn territories – not connected or belonging to the the country they are in. Calais Ferry Port is a perfect example of ferry port wierdness.

A lone gull has the temerity to invade the emptyness.

Pilotis everywhere. JG Ballard would have had a field day here.
